Biography

Mike Destefano passed away on Mar. 6, 2011. He was such an amazing comedian who used his many challenges in life to bring laughter to many people. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Mike, we know you are making them all laugh wherever you are!

Bronx, Mike’s fascinating life of crime and addiction was the template for his hilarious act, taking all the stories from his past and morphing them into a stand-up show that left no one safe from laughter. Mike was a regular at all the top clubs in New York, had been heard on Sirius Satellite Radio, appeared on Showtime’s White Boyz In The Hood, Last Comic Standing and Comedy Central’s “Comics Anonymous.” Mike was also the author of Badda Bing Badda Buddha.
Mike was also a featured comic at both HBO’s Aspen Comedy Festival and the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. Mike had battled his demons, won, and emerged a wonderful comedian making audiences everywhere find humor in situations where there normally is none. Time Out New York had called him a “Must See” “Gruff, Candid and Unflinching.” Mike DeStefano proved himself as one of the most unique voices in stand-up comedy.
